Sag Pump, Power steering cooler and YORK!
So I finally manned up and started the project Iv'e wanted to do for a while now. I'm swaping over to a SAG pump and adding an actual cooler as well as upgrading my OBA to a york. Here's some pics. It's a bit dirty so i'm now cleaning up a bit as well as cleaning up junkyard upgrade parts. I got a serpentine Sag pump out of a 89 Econoline van, a Sag pump out of late 70's ford pick-up and the cooler from Jackson donor bronco. Also, when I got my York, Dave quickly pointed out that he was pretty sure the one I got was the smaller CFM one. I didn't care to much then but I'm glad to announce that I actually got lucky and got the coveted large CFM one. I plan to go with the serpentine belt pulley which sucks because the cheapest Iv'e found it for is about $90 shipped. I think it'll be worth it though. I'll post up more later.

yes I do actually. I E-mailed them to confirm that what I was looking to order was the right item but I was going to say something about ordering multiples if anyone is interested. Also, When I make my bracket, I could make an extra or two if someone was interested.

I'll be ordering tomorrow or wednesday at the latest. We'd only be saving like $4 a person so it's not really worth it.
The bracket I need to make is for mounting the York where the old A/C pump was located.

Ordered the part. Total came out to $95 with tax and shipping. Also ordered an electronic air pressure switch for the OBA since I wanted to do it in the first place and cheaped out. Got it off Ebay for $20 shipped.

Re: Sag Pump, Power steering cooler and YORK!
I got the serp belt pulley today I plan to work on it some more tomorrow to try and finish mounting the cooler, do the oil mod to the york and start working on my york bracket. I got a 1'X1'X1/4" peice of steel at OSH for $30. It's expensive but beats having to go to sims during the week or finding a metal store willing to take a small chunk out of full sheet. RED DRAGONS

Re: Sag Pump, Power steering cooler and YORK!
The project is going smoothly. I'm almost done with my york bracket so hopefully I can paint it tonight and install it for the last tie tomorrow. I have to make hoses for my power steering cooler lines. I'm using an oil cooler off of the volvo that Peter got his York out of. It's insanely great for mounting and plenty thick. I did the "oil" mod to the york as well as got the new serp pulley mouted. The belt looks like it might be hitting the upper radiator hose so I might be modifying that. I have pics and info for all of this so hopefully it'll make someones life easier when they do it. I'll do a more indepth write-up later.

Re: Sag Pump, Power steering cooler and YORK!
I'm starting to feel a little concern for you.... oil preasure 20-100 psi,,, power stearing up to 1500psi,,,, I think you might want to consider a different cooler, like one for a trans.
and what is the "oil mod" taking out the shim to increase preasure or drilling out the fitting to increase flow?? Or is there something else I should be doing before I put mine in

Re: Sag Pump, Power steering cooler and YORK!
on the oil mod, is it plugging the hole that passes oil to the top of the pistons behind the pulley? http://www.jedi.com/obiwan/jeep/york_oilmod.html
