Unfortunately I didn't fab this stuff up, but I did help do the designs. Chris Hefty (FSB) and I had been talking for several months starting in September. He was telling me how his normal work was slow and how he wanted to start a fab shop. Having similar taste in booty fab, we pitched ideas to each other for several weeks. Doing lots of homework on designs that worked and fitted our taste. We agreed on a plate center that housed a winch, tube outers giving clearance and pre-runner looks. Lastly we wanted a very shallow light bar. 1/4" plate with 1-3/4" x.120 round.

Next up are my sliders. We just stole Shadofax's design on these but bumped the tubing up to match the front bumper. .188, 2" square, and 1-3/4" .120 DOM. The outer tube is 4" off the main square. I need to cut off that front fender mount, so the sliders can sit more flush with the rocker. I need to figure out where to mount the legs and decide if I want to weld or bolt them on.

Fortunately, because I helped with designs, I got a smokin' deal. 'Nuff said.

What colors should I paint this stuff? Semi-gloss black, hammered black, or tan to match the bottom paint?

The front bumper is meant to be bolted on right? Any concerns about the strength of the accordian frame, especially if you get a winch on there?

You could always paint them tan and see if you like it, if you dont the tan becomes the primer and then go black. I would use a cheap flat black, since you'll be repainting fairly often to covers scratches and chips.

The accordian frame won't have any issues with a winch. The accordian is actually quite stout and having been smashed by a bus with no damage, I have little concerns with it. IIRC, nobody has been able to damage it with rocovery using any method with any style bumper/tow point.

I'm leaning towards semi-gloss black for both.

That looks good Stan. On the strength of the accordion frame i wouldnt think there would be any problems at all. as long all the mounts are used. Ive pulled so hard with my winch on the bumper i have that i had both front tires off the ground. Its pretty solid.

I vote for black, nice bumper though, I need more pics! Sweet sliders too, I'm interested in seeing how you mount them.

I like the colored of hammered black, but its ~$6+ a can. The semi-gloss is half price.

Okay, honest opinions between the two... Hammered or semi-gloss black and why?

semi gloss is cheaper, easier to paint and the spray can hammered never turns out as good as the powercoat hammered.

I had good luck with the hammered on my shackle flip parts, and I will use it again for the front bumper.

Sermi-gloss looks good and it easier to fix when it gets chipped up, so either way,
